HIS success with his problem readers has varied, Studt said. With such an individualized program, he maintained that the classes must be kept small. One of Studt’s classes has only four students and it is this class that has accomplished the most. Less work has been done by another group of 15 students.
Fleetwood commented that the administration and regular classroom teachers had noticed an attitudinal change in many of Studt’s reading lab kids. “He’s established an atmosphere that makes the kids want to learn,” concluded Fleetwood. □
