Work is progressing on schedule on the housebuilding project being conducted by the students enrolled in the construction trades classes at the Piedmont Technical Education Center. Location of the project is two miles south of the School, off Route 15. Several masonry students are at work on the basement of the house, which, upon completion, will include 1000 square feet of main floor area. The housebuilding project is being administered by the Piedmont Vocational Education Foundation, Inc. which consists of faculty members at the Piedmont Education Center, and members at the Piedmont Technical Education Center, and members of the “Make America Better Committee” of the Piedmont Board of Realtors. The objective of the project is to provide “on-the-job” experience for building trades students on a project that will bear permanence. Upon completion of the project, the house will be sold, with the profits from the sale going to the Foundation’s treasury for the next such project.
