Shenandoah National Park comes alive in the springtime. The colorful progression of blossoming and regrowth is especially refreshing after a long, hard winter. As the natural temp of life increases, so do the visitor activities in the Park.
Beginning April 1, both Dickey Ridge Visitor Center at mile 4.6, and the Harry F. Byrd Visitor Center at Big Meadows, Milepost SI on the Skyline Drive will be open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. At Byrd Visitor Center, you can get acquainted with the Park by viewing a ten-minute color slide program that is shown throughout the day.
