According to Biddle, conversion of the 530 foot long and 40 foot wide chicken house will not involve outside structural changes. The local health department has already approved a full septic plan for a field to be located 500 feet from both the road and the proposed apartments on a reverse side of a hill, Biddle said. The little run which feeds a farm pond flows through the property on the hill’s forward slope, he added. He said that approval for the water supply to the proposed apartments has also been secured.
According to the attorney, each of the eight units will include 1,200 square feet of floor space with two bedrooms, bath, living roomdining room combination, kitchen, balcony, drapes and carpeting. “This will be a quality, top-flight series of apartments,” Biddle said, noting that the units may also be rented to teachers who have difficulty finding adequate, affordable housing in the county.
