Black Kettle Motel reopens
The Black Kettle Motel, at the intersection of U.S. 211 and Business 211 in Washington, has reopened for business. According to owner Joan K. St. Clair, "music lovers are especially welcome and encouraged to gather for mutual interests and expression. The management will be anxious to meet any and all your needs for a lovely time in a quiet, peaceful get-away in a rustic country-setting." Amendments reconsidered
Due to a technical oversight, the county's Board of Supervisors must again hold a public hearing on the amendments to the subdivision ordinance and the family transfer provisions it adopted in November. The changes to the zoning ordinances regarding the requirements for golf courses and mobile homes will also be re-heard. The public hearings will begin at 7 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 7 at the county courthouse in Washington.
4-H winter camp
The Northern Virginia 4-H Center outside Front Royal is offering a Winter 4-H Cloverbud Camp the weekend of Jan. 26 and 27. This weekend mini-camp is a winter counterpart to the summertime Cloverbud Cdmp, designed for youngsters five to eight years old. The program will include educational workshops and musical activities geared to young children.
