Cancer Society cookbooks
The American Cancer Society's popular cookbook, “Potpourri of Virginia Cooking,” is now on sale through the Rappahannock Chapter of the ACS. Volume 7, recently published, is $10, and a few copies of Volume 6 are still available at a reduced price of $7. For more information, or to order a cookbook, contact Carol Miller (703-675-3691). Mrs. Miller suggested the cookbooks make nice Christmas gifts — and the Rappahannock Chapter will also accept holiday donations in memory of relatives and friends.
Skywatching offered
The science department at Rappahannock County High School recently acquired a new telescope, and plans to offer public viewing of the night sky. According to Earth Science teacher Tom Von Fange, the telescope will offer excellent views of the moon and planets. Mr. Von Fange will be at the school each Monday and Thursday evening from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Public viewing is available during those hours — weather permitting, of course.
