All other alternatives must be completely investigated. A merger with Culpeper will seriously harm farm supply competition in this area. Any alternative selected will be extremely important to the future of farming here and must be acted on with great care.
We urge you to vote against the proposed merger with Culpeper and to instruct the Board of Directors to actively pursue other alternatives.
Our Co-op has been very successful in the past. It has looked to the needs of the large and small farmer * and in this matter the small farmer’s vote is just as important as the larger farmer.
Directors and Management owe it to you and other members to explore all alternatives, if we are to make an intelligent choice on this important matter. We do not understand in the interests of fairness why a vote on such an important issue would be scheduled for four o’clock in the afternoon, in Orange, on Dec. 19. -
