“It’s not clear that the reductions are over with,” he said. “We’re into the next round of reductions. There are less opportunities to find other areas to reduce.”
He said the consolidation plan would eliminate 100 jobs, about 60 directors and 40 office managers. “There is a human inpact, and it’s better to look at something over a longer period. But it will be tough to follow the committee’s advice.”
He suggested that localities may be asked to pick up more of the cost. “We have to find ways to meet the expanding caseloads as well as find further reductions. ”
