James Dodson Sr.
James E. Dodson Sr., 64, of Frederick County died Dec. 24 at the Winchester Medical Center.
The funeral was conducted Dec. 27 at the Jones Funeral Home by Assistant Pastor Gregory Miller. Burial was in the Greenhill Cemetery at Stephens City.
Mr. Dodson was born Feb. 16, 1926, in Rappahannock County, the son of the late Ellis B. and Ellie E. Atkins Dodson. He was a retired construction worker frpm Frank Haymaker and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was the husband of the late Mary D. Ramey Dodson.
Surviving are two daughters, Mary E. Wilson of Shenandoah County and Robin Warriner of Ranson, W.Va.; two sons, James E. Dodson Jr. and Frank Dodson, both of Frederick County; three sisters, Esther E. Dodson, Hester B. Ramey and Dorothy P. Bailey, all of Frederick County; two brothers, Paul Dodson and Charles .E. /Dodson, both of Shenandoah County; and two grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Terry Ramey, Billy Miller, William Fletcher Sr., Roger Dodson, Richard Dodson and Roger Jackson.
Hildra Heflin
Hildra Lewis Heflin, 77, of Boston, formerly of Fredericksburg died Dec. 22 in Boston.
He was bom in Stafford on March 31, 1913.
He was retired from G & H Manufacturer.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Carrie C. Heflin; one daughter, Mrs. Brenda H. Barb of Boston; six sisters, Mrs. Lillian Owens of King George, Mrs. Mary MacCleod of Havelock, N.C., Mrs. Florence Shelton, Mrs. Blanche Parker, Mrs. Catherine Fines and Mrs. Edith Owens, all of Fredericksburg; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Dec. 26 at Mullins and Thompson Funeral Home in Fredericksburg. The Rev. David M. McCoy officiated. Interment was in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers were Ronald Chewning, Larry Blankerbaker, Dennis Gallahan, Robert Catlett, Bernard Bradshaw and Kenneth Jones.
