Bertha May ^
Mrs. Bertha Garr May, 78, of Culpeper died Dec. 26 at Culpeper Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. May was bom May 26, 1912, the daughter of the late Howard Garr and Dicie Davis. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Her husband was the late John May.
Survivors include one daughter, Hazel Dodson of Boston; four sons, Robert W. Majr, Jesse H. May, Charles E. May and Danny R. May, all of Culpeper; two sisters, Ethel Utz of Culpeper and Annie Goodwin of Richmond; two brothers, James Garr of Lynchburg and Gilbert Garr of North Carolina; 15 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Otis B. and Kenneth May.
Funeral services were held Dec. 29 at Clore Funeral Home chapel, with the Rev. William Smith and the Rev. Charles Shifflett officiating. Interment was in Fairview Cemetery.
Ella Frazier
Mrs. Ella Mae Frazier, 77, of Culpeper died Dec. 27 at her residence.
A native of Rappahannock County who had lived most of her life in Culpeper County, she was the daughter of the late Alpheus and Louella Margaret Pullen Clark. She was the widow of Ezra Hampton Frazier.
Mrs. Frazier was a member of Culpeper Free Methodist Church for a number of years and had served as treasurer for the Sunday School there for some time.
She was preceded in death by her only son, Charlie Hampton Frazier.
Her survivors include three daughters, Margaret Jenkins of Remington, Ethel Frazier of Culpeper and Edna Hawkins of Fredericksburg; one step-daughter, Mary Lee Williams of Maryland; a step-son, Russell Frazier of Gresham, S.C.; seven grandchildren; 10 greatgrandchildren; and seven stepgrandchildren.
A funeral was held Dec. 20 at Culpeper Free Methodist Church, the Rev. Dallas Beall officiating, assisted by the Rev. Thomas Barker, with interment in Fairview Cemetery.
Geest-Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
