With action on the school budget out of the way the Board of Supervisors had its first work session on the rest of the county budget Monday evening.
There was little questioning of budget items. Instead debate centered on how to fund the requests. The $10.35 million budget will be advertised with a smorgasbord of taxes with the idea that not all will be passed. If all were approved about Si50,000 more would be raised than is needed for a bal lanced budget.
The advertised real estate tax rate will be 73 cents, a four-cent increase. A four-cent fire tax will also be proposed. A $2.90 personal property tax rate will be advertised. That same rate has been in effect for several years as real estate tax rates have increased. In addition a 20-cent personal property fire tax will also be included in the advertised tax rates.
