PUBLIC HEARING: SCHOOL BOARD VACANCIES In accordance with §22.1-29.1 of the Code of Virginia, the Board of Supervisors of Rappahannock County shall hold a public hearing on Monday, June 5, 1995, at 7:00 PM at the Courthouse in Washington, VA, to consider nominations for the positions of School Board member for Hampton and Wakefield Districts, said terms to commence July 1, 1995. Due to the pending (November 7, 1995) Election of School Board representatives, the term of office shall be only six (6) months, or from July 1 through December 31, 1995. Persons interested in one or the other of the positions are notified that they must be a qualified voter and a bona fide resident of the district in question in order to qualify. The Board of Supervisors intends to make appointment for these shortened terms at their Year End meeting of June 19, 1995. No person may be appointed to either position whose name has not been placed in nomination at the Public Hearing. All interested persons are invited to attend and to make comment.
