At the request of School Board member Franklin Warner, Mrs. Johnson introduced the bus drivers who attended the meeting, and they each spoke briefly to the Board. Drivers Carl Menefee, Richard Markham, Eddie Gore, Barbara Gore, and Daniel Keyser all said that they were appreciative of Mrs. Johnson’s efforts, and Mr. Menefee added that the team’s existence has given them “a glimmer of hope that bus drivers exist.”
Board activities
• Board member Rosa Crocker of the Programs and Planning Committee reported that there is a proposal to add four advanced placement courses to the curriculum at the high school and that she was extremely excited at the prospect.
• Chairman Wesley Mills said that he has invited the Marine Corps Junior ROTC to send representatives and that they are scheduled to make a presentation at the January meeting of the School Board.
