King celebration
set for Jan. 19
The 12th annual Martin Luther King Jr. celebration at The Theatre in Washington will feature Dr. Belle Whelan, the Secretary of Education for the Commonwealth of Virginia on Sunday, Jan. 19 at 4 p.m. The celebration is sponsored each year by the Julia E. A living nativity
on view Dec. 21
There will be a living nativity sponsored by the United Methodist churches on Dec. 21 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. It will be at the red barn beside the library, on US 211 at Sycamore Hill House. The nativity can be viewed by driving by, or persons can walk up the luminary lit path to the barn. United Methodist churches include Sperryville Methodist, Flint , Hill Methodist and Willis Chapel.
