et, like the time there were no funds for some of the band members to attend a band competition in Myrtle Beach, S.C. She got the band members there and they returned with several awards.
It’s times like those, and times like last week when Mrs. Havstad went to the band concert at the high school, that she sees how far the band has come. It currently has 52 members in uniform and as she watched the band perform, “so much, much better now,” she couldn’t help but feel proud.
“I said to myself, ‘This is why I do what I do, for my children."’
