• The Commissioner of Revenue's office and the Treasurer's Office will be closed on Friday. Sept. 5 to upgrade the computer system. The offices will reopen at 8:30 a.m. on Monday. Sept. 8. • On Tuesday. Sept. 9 the Rappahannock County School Board will meet at 7 p.m. in closed session and at 7:30 p.m. in public session at the Rappahannock County High School band room. • The Washington Town Council will hold a meeting on Sept. 10 at 7:30 p.m. at Town Hall. Highlights from the agenda include updates on the wastewater system, a water tap request, and Allegheny Power’s request for an electricity franchise. Council also will consider a proposal for a new soda ash pump, a request to have a tree pruned or removed, and a request to use Avon Hall. • On Thursday, Sept. 4. the Rappahannock County Water and Sewer Authority will meet at 7:30 p.m.. at the Rappahannock County Courthouse on Gay Street.
