Willium Shake# peure's Henry V comet) to the Theatre tit Washington. Virginia, tor two performances: Saturday, Sept. 13, at M p.m. and Sunduy, Sept. 14 at 2:30 p.m.

The pmduetion it* part of the annual tour of the United States by students than Cambridge University American Stuge Tour (CAS'D, which hue its roots in the ADC Theatre - the oldest student theutre in the U.K. This will be the group's fifth production in "Little'’ Washington and follow# the successful 2007 tour of Twelfth Night which was performed at The Theatre last fall.

The students briefly describe the plot of Henry V this way: "A tale of conspiracy und betrayal, of royalty and treachery, of romance and conquests, and of tennis balls. This dynamic and dramatic production makes you question where heroism ends and immorality begins.”

The director of this production notes that he "decided to place the play in a modern setting and this is to try and draw attention to the accessibility and universal relevance of Shakespeare's work, but not to draw any direct parallel# to specific examples of modem conflicts. The war in Henry V is between England and France in the 15th century, and that is how it shall remain. The play is. in some respects, about ‘growing up.’ (Henry is a man reborn from wild youth to ideul king) and rising to the challenges of adult .hood. This is an issue which we all face, and one which I felt could be highlighted by the modem sotting arid it also makes it pertinent that these rol««# are being adopted by students.
