The streets of Washington w ill Ik* full of green-clad marchers and the sound of bagpipes Saturday as Rappahannock, for the first time, celebrates St. Patrick’s Day with a parade and an Irish Rest featuring traditional food, music and dancing.
The parade begins at 11 a. m. with Dublinborn Edmund Kavanagh, Rappahannock's most authentic Irishman, as Grand Marshall It will follow a route from the Washington Volunteer Fire Department, down Main Street, Jett Street and Gay Street. Then* an* more* than 20 parade units or groups.
The Ihedmont Caledonia l*ijx* Band and the Rappahannock County High School marching band will provide marching music and many local groups will provide the color and fun.
There will be lots of animals—llamas. horsc*s, the Waggin Hearts Therapy Dogs, the Canine Companions for Independence, the Rappahannock Democratic Party's marchers with their donkey. A Lucky Leprechaun and a mystery St Patrick might be seen by those*
