We also get calls from people who find wonderful, gentle, loving cats — and, for whatever reason, can’t keep them - now we have run out of foster home spaces. Until one of our current foster parents stretches his or her facilities and heart — again — and takes one more in —just this one more time— or another person or family agrees to provide foster care, we don t know what we’ll do when the phone rings again - and it will
We’re about out of those onemore-times. We need more foster homes, more caring people to step forward. Foster families— and lundraising — are our major goals for this year. We don’t let our foster parents down; we’re with them every step of the way and support them with advice, veterinary care for their charges and in any way necessary. They are the lifeblood of our organization - and they’re all filled up.
I wrote this because — well, because it’s time. People should know what we’re all about. When we get the bad calls — we’re human, we are heartsick. But then, we also get the good calls. Those make it all worthwhile. Eva, warm, well fed, not in danger every minute of her existence, not in fear every second — as she bounds her way across the room on three good legs to jump on the couch— she makes it all worthwhile.
