financial plan for houses and commercial establishments yet to be built.
Tb put it into perspective, in the last 10 years, there has been one new residence built within town limits. The sewer growth plan - in its modest, scaled down version - projects 30 new EDUs over the next 10 years.
A few structures in the town have no plumbing and hooking on to the sewer system would add usage without additional building. But the bottom line is, the sewer model expects that sewer usage will at least double over the next 20 years.
The building which housed the old Ki Theater, now RAAC’s Community Theatre, which is owned by the county, for instance, would probably have plumbing added once the sewer is built, said John McCarthy.
Then there are other buildings - next to larger houses, some now bed and breakfasts, some out buildings of residences — that could also conceivably hook on, but owners of these aren’t keen about paying the EDU fee and would prefer to tie into the hook up for the main structure.
