The annual Missionary Insti tute of the Farmville District of The Methodist Church will be held in the Methodist Church at Crewe at 6 p. m., January 16. Dr. C. Cooper Bell, district superintendent of the Farmville District, has announced that, the Rev. Ezra M. Cox. an associate secretary of the Division of Home Missions and Church Extension of the Methodist B~ard of Mis sions and Church Extension, will be tiie featured speaker. Rev. Mr. Cox directs missionary projects of the Board in Cali fornia, Oregon. Washington and other western states. For ten years Mr. Cox supervised the Bureau of Foreign Language Work and thus is familiar with the special needs of the various foreign groups in the United States. Dr. William Archer Wright, president of the Virginia Con ference Board of Missions, will also be present and will speak Several hundred Methodists of the Farmville District are ex pected to attend this meeting. To Expand College Fire Sprinkler System Extension of the fire sprinkler system from the hallway into looms of Ruffncr Hall, at Long wood College, will begin about January 15, S. L. Grahar^ said to day. The work will be done by the ‘ Automatic" Sprinkler Corpora tion of America under a $25,000 contract, he said.
