Other Activities Other activities included weed control demonstrations, distribu tion of pasture stickers, clipping demonstrations, and pasture schools. Some counties are stress ing pasture management and are establishing rotational grazing demonstrations. Members of the state commit tee had a chance to see first-hand the results of their work. One of the highlights of the year was a tour of Henrico county grassland farms for the committee mem bers. Agronomists at VPI now com pute that there are about 5.000. 000 acres of pasture in Virginia, with an average grazing capacity of one cow to four and one-half acres. The immediate goal is to double the grazing capacity. Some Virginia farmers have already achieved and passed this goal.
