May Day Held At
Sperryville School
The Sperryville Eltmentary School held its annual May DayHealth Day program in the school ~audttdnum~Tuesday night, May 1, and again on Wednesday afternoon, May 2. Those who took part ■were S-pointers or those who will (be 5-pointers on or before June S. The latter group was allowed to participate due to the fact that the State dental clinic which had been scheduled for the grade chil• dren, did not materialize at the last minute. v
Margy Dodson was chosen as queen by the student body, and she chose C. H. Brown as her ■king. Faye Black was maid of ■honor and Richard Burke was crown prince, Betty Johnson and Margaret Devers were heralds, Ronnie Schober was the train bearer and Joey Schober was crown bearer. Shirley Leake and Jania Dodson were flower girls. The maids iwere: Georgia Stan~ dish, Doris Fincham, Bernice Nethers, Jehane Dellinger, Mabel Hawkins, Naomi Burke, Juanita Dodson, and Mary Foster.
After the coronation of the Queen by the Prince of Health the following program was pre« eented: The Health Fairies, a playlet, by the 1st and 2nd grades; health song and dance by the 6th grades; '"The Good Ship Health”, a song, by the 4th and 5th grades; the May Pole Dance by a group of 3rd and 4th grade girls; the reading of the 5-Point Honor Roll; "Dress to Suit the Wean ther”, a health skit, presented by the «th and 7th grade girls; and a “Cow Boy Health song” and the pyramid building by a group of' grade boys.
