The marriage of Miss Dorothy Roberta Settle to Pvt. Roy Cleveland Whorton, took place in Viers Mill Village, Maryland, on Wednesday after, May 2, at 5:30.
Miss Settle is the daughter of Mrs. Robert Settle of Amissville. Pvt. Whorton'is the son of Mrs. Henry Whorton of Amissville, and has recently finished his training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina.
The Reverend A. E. Ditto performed the double ring ceremony.
Pvt. Whorton left Sunday after, noon to go to Seattle, Washington, to await further orders.
Pvt. and Mrs. Whorton had a short wedding trip and then returned to his home to spend the rest of his leave.
A wedding supper was given in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Whorton at the home of his mother last week. A few friends and relatives were present.
