Firemen’s Meeting
The Rappahannock Volunteer Fire Department will hold its regular annual meeting for the election of officers over the Fire House, Tuesday, January 13.
AUXILIARY MEETING
The Woman’s Auxiliary of the Amissville Fire Department will hold its regular meeting Wednesday, January 14 at 3 p.m. The Stanley party, as planned after the meeting, will be postponed until the March meeting, due to the weather.

Fruit—The deciduous fruit crop is expected to be larger in 1953 than in 1952. However, canned fruit stock is expected to be low and demand from processors should be strong.
Wheat—Export demand for wheat is weaker than in past years. Carry over next July 1 is expected to be about 550 million bushels. Crop so far this year is poor, but prospects for large surpluses are ahead. Government support price of 90 per cent parity makes it profitable for farmers to expand production. Vegetables—With favorable weather conditions, farmers will likely produce more potatoes, sweet potatoes andn fresh market truck crops than in 1952. Demand is expected to be strong and prices will probably average below the relatively high levels of 1952.
