“What would you say if I told you I’ve seen a hen-egg weighing 61 ounces?” asked Bill Lyne.
“It isn’t worth comment,” came the doubting-thomas reply.
“Well, I have,” affirmed the county agent, “and Arthur Miller weighed it.”
“Good grief!” exploded a listener, “now it’s Bill Lyne lieing and Arthur Miller swearing to it! I give up!” Out of his jacket p9cket Bill Lyne brought the egg. “Here it is,” he said. “It was laid by a New Hampshire Red on Mrs. Ivor Jacob’s place at Amissville, and I’m no liar!”
