The story is safe to tell here. The man is far enough away to prevent violence. Anyone who is lucky enough to avoid bad cold has no right to inflict his good luck on others. To begin with, it’s very poor taste, and worse manners. There’s no form of sadism in my make-up, but I don’t care if the fellow has the sevenyears-itch and when I see him, I’m gonna scratch l I’ve got a snivelly, hateful, disgusting, annoying bad cold and I don’t want to hear of anyone who “never has a cold!’’

A fellow who writes a newspaper column about business got handed the question: “What about the market?" The reply came back in print the next day, “You should remember that a man who could answer that one wouldn’t be slaving away writing pieces for the paper.”

That bit of information may have no value, but that word “podiatrist” was more than could be resisted. I saw it the other day, and it rolled around in the mouth so well just before being .spit out; I felt impelled to use it.
