SperryVille School Observes
“Nutrition Week”
Last week the Sperryvile Elementary School observed “Nutrition Week" - by making posters, writing slogans, and composing newspaper articles on “We Are What We Eat” (7th grade) and “The Do's and Don’t’s of Eating” (6th grade).
Prizes were given for the best room poster, the best individual pupil poster in each room, the best individual pupil poster in the whole school, the best slogan, and the best newspaper article.
Mrs. Walker’s room, 1st prize; Mrs. Keyser’s room, .2nd prize; Mrs. Johnston's room 3rd prize. Kay Johnston, 1st prize in Miss Della’s Hitt’s room; Gerald Dwyer, 1st in Mrs Moffett’s room; Shirley Brown, 1st in Mrs. Lawrence’s room; William Atkins, 1st in Mrs. Price’s room; Guy Standish, 1st in Mrs. Johnston’s room; Lou Dodson, 1st in Miss Wood's room; Carolyn Turner, l9t in Mrs. Johnson’s room; Glen Hitt, 1st in Mrs. Keyser’s room; Edna Dodson, 1st in Mrs.. Kilby’s and Mrs. Quaintance’s room; and Johnnie Weaver and Jackie Sisk, 1st in Mrs. Walker’s room. Johnnie Weaver and Jackie Sisk also got first for the best individual pupil poster in the whole school ; Guy Standish in Mrs. Johnston’s section of the 5th grade got second; and William Atkins in Mrs. Price’s section of die 4thjfrade got third.
