The three classes of foods, are proteins, carbohydrates, which includes starches and sugars, and fats. Lean meats, eggs, milk, peas, beans, and all foods made from grains are rich in proteins. Potatoes, turnips, cabbage, bread, and grains are valuable mainly for their starch. Fruits, sweet potatoes, honey, molasses, and milk contain sugan Fats and oils we get in butter, lard,* fat meat, eggs, cheese, chocolate, nuts, olive oil, and mayonnaise. All three of these classes of foods give heat and strength to the body and the proteins furnish building and repair materials in addition.
