The Baby contest ended Saturday, night, sponsored by the senior choir of the Hopewell Baptist church. The first prize went to little. Miss Cordulia Ellen Williams; ^pcond to little Miss Charlotte Aylor; third to Miss Anna Lewis. This contest was a success and proceeds will go to the church building fund.
The pupils of Rappahannock colored school were represented by a chorus at the Music Festival held at the Jnckaon P. Burley High School in Charlottesville Saturday, March 21. The children brought baick a very complimentary rating- Those participating from the Washington colored school were: Misses Louemma Fldtcher, Catherine Ann Freeman, Mary Beckwith, Janet Bailey and Josephine Bridget, Alfred Bridget, Carl Beckwith and Leonard Brooks.
The Upper Grades of the Washington colored school will present a comedy drama “When Mrs. Wriggleswort Gets Religion” on Friday, April 10. At this time we will crown Mias Washington School. Help the contestants in the Easter Rally. They are Misses Frames Gatewood, Mary Beckwith and Gloria Brent Vote for each one 10c a vote.
Five pupils from Flint Hill School participated in the Music Festival at Charlottesville on Saturday, March 21. They were Lucy Allsberry, Gloria Jcft, Virginia Jordan, Lillian Russell, and Catherine Jordan. Mrs. DeVane, teacher, accompanied her group.
Miss Sarah Jackson of Culpeper was a week end guest of Mtss Delores Bridgets
Mr. Oliver DeVane of Wilmington, North Carolina spent the week end with his wife; Mrs. DeVane.
