The District meeting' will be on Wednesday, May 6, at Madison High School, beginning at 10 a.m. Plans are being made for everyone wishing to attend. The theme of the meeting is “Today’s Home Builds Tomorrow’s Future,”

Huntly H.D. club planned a party for the Reager 4-H club at their monthly meeting Monday. The demonstration was on “The Altering, of Patterns and Cutting of a Dress.” •

Mrs. W. B. Dennis was hostess to the Castleton H.D. Friday. The clothing leaders, Mrs. Dennis and Mrs. Willie Spicer, demonstrated how to alter a pattern to fit.

Amissville 4-H dub had a picnic at the pond of Mrs. Clarence Cough. Mrs. Ralph Rowzie aided in making the outing a success.

Troat Season Opens

Trout season opens tomorrow, May 1. In Shenandoah National Park the hour is 12 o’clock noon, May 1. Of course, the fisherman’s story has been getting warmed up during the past few weeks. The gentlemen of the angle, rod and red, are preparing themselves for the stories they shall bring home after tomorrow.

Mrs. Arthur Miller reports that Jimmie Settle pulled a four-pound bass from the Miller pond the other day. Mrs. Miller, fast becoming a fishing enthusiast, is showing no signs of qualifying in the class of regular fisherman story-tellers; she (admits that she caught one only two inches long—and no fisherman would say that! Jimmie Settle’s four-pound bass was photographed, according to reports from the Miller household, and Mrs. Miller says, “It was a shame to, cook anything that pretty; we should have mounted it so we could show it off."
