Sperryville News Notes

Mr. and Mr9. C. E. Muterspaugh who drove from Arlington on Sunday morning extended their trip to Charlottesville to visit their uncle, Frank D. Coffey. W. N. Rector who had been visiting his relatives in Arlington returned with them and he and Mrs. Coffey went to the hospital with them.

Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Wake, and son, “Chappie," Mr. and Mrs. B. J. Mears and baby of Saluda were week end guests of Mr. and Mrs. D. V. Chapman.

Mrs. Frances B. Thomtoft and her son, “Bummy” were dinner guests on Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. Brown Miller.

Dinner guests on Teusday at "Rock Villa," the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. Rodes Brown were Mrs. James G. Brown, Miss Eda Finks, Mrs. A. Paul Thompson and her baby girl, Ann Rodes Thompson.

In the absence of the pastor of the pastor, Elder Tolbert Suddith, who’s ill with flu, Elder Harvey Dai$ filled his regular appointment at Upperville on Saturday and Sunday. Elder and Mrs. Daily were overnight guests on Saturday of Mrs. John Hall at Areola and on Sunday they were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Morris Rector at Rectortown.

Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Wayland were Mr. and Mrs. James Marshall Wayland and Mrs. Florence Washer of Front Royal, Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Wayland and family of Culpeper. In the afternoon Mr. and Mrs. Maury Brown and their son, Alien Brown we/e guests in the Wayland home.

Mrs. Helen Bruce and her sister, Mrs. E. W. Gore and their families were guests of their brother and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Brown of Woodville on Sunday.

Mr. and Mrs. S. R. Shackleford and son, Henry were guests on Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Wood at Erin.

Mr. and Mrs. Robert E. Wood were guests of Col. and Mrs. Charles King at Ben Venue Saturday afternoon. On Thursday Mrs. Wood was a guest of Miss Eda Finks. .

Mrs. Maury Brown and her son and daughter, Allen and Miss Jean Brown vtfere guests on Saturday evening of Mrs. Maurice Shirey in Front Royal.
