IN MEMORIAM In sad but loving memory of cur dear husband and father, Johnnie A. Brooks, who departed his life 2 years ago today, July 1, 1951. I have lost my soul’s companion A lifetime with my own Day by day we miss him more As I walk through life alone. This day brings forth sad memories Of the one we laid to rest And those who think of you today Are the ones you loved the best. No eye to see me weep I think of you in silence And many are the tears we shed When others are asleep. You slept away so peacefully You said no last good byes God took you to heaven To live with him on high. Keep him, Jesus, in thy keeping Until we reach the other shore Then, Master, let us have him * To love us as before. Sadly missed by his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Brooks and ten children.
