CULPEPER HORSE SHOW Already over a hundred horses have been entered in the forty-ninth annual exhibition of the Culpeper Horse Show and Racing Association, July 3-4. Warrenton, Orange, Richmond, Lexington, Kentucky, Fredericksburg and New Jersey are among those who have entries' in the show. This show is sponsored by Post 330 of the American Legion. Two Rappahannock men are among the race officials. Leon Greenaway is ring master and Jack DeBergh is the race chairman.
Vesper Services Begin
At 6:45 p.m., on Sunday, July 5, carilloneur Charles T. Chapman, in a recital of the world’s most inspirational religious music, will ring out the prelude of the thirteenth annual season of Sunset Vesper Services in Carillon Park. The speaker for the first service will be the Rev. Dr. Franklin C. Fry, president of the United Lutheran Church in America. Sponsored by the Luray Ministerial Association and time-endorsed by the devotion opportunity of worship amid the architectural grandeur of God’s most majestic cathedral: the out- . doors.
C. O. ODEN IMPROVING
Clarence “Cheese” Oden, who has been a patient in the Newton D. Baker Hospital, Martinsbijrg, West Virginia for several weeks, has been removed from the critical list. He is able to spend 2 or 3 hours a day on the sunporch and is reported to be improving satisfactorily.
