Thursday was wonderfully exciting for the Rappahannock delegates, for the state nominating chose Newbill Miller as candidate for First Vice President of Short Course! Lelia Gentry presented his qualifications to the audience.
Voting took place that afternoon. Most candidates had posters and promises—as usual. No one knew who would get the Vote until, next day when we were thrilled to see Newbill led onto the stage to be installed in his office of First Vice President of the 1954 Virginia State Short Course.
Thursday night we were enter* tained by top 4-H talent in the Share - the - Fun program. Eric Lund of radio station MLVA, in Lynchburg, was again master of ceremonies. We were sorry Betty was eliminated but there were some really professional quality acts and we enjoyed it very much.
On Friday we attended the Short Course Tea. After supper the entire Short Course gathered for the most beautiful and impressive event of the week, the All Star Ceremonial, at which new
