Washington Co-op. Is Sold

The Washington Co-operative Fruit Growers, Inc., was sold at auction Friday, June 26. It was purchased for approximately $105,000 by C. E. Johnson Jr., acting for a group of about 12 interested fruit growers.

It is expected to be about two weeks before organization is completed with a change of name. At present it is not known whether the organization will be in the form of a co-op or of a corporation.

Apple picking should begin about August 1 with no pause in the operation of business.
