Charles E. Hawkins
The entire community was shocked and distressed to hear of the sudden death of Charles Earl Hawkins, 34, which occurred at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Hawkins of Boston, March 2. Funeral services were held Friday at 2:30 o'clock from the Geest Funeral Chapel with interment in the family section of Fairview Cemetery. Rev. George W. Bowman, pastor of Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church of which the deceased- was a member, conducted the services, assisted by Rev. Cecil Carder of Kenbridge. v In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Mrs. Virginia P. Hawkins; two sisters, Mrs. Louise Bayne of Orange City, Fla., and Mrs. Edna Wayland of Washington; three brothers, Ralph Hawkins of Fredericksburg, George Hawkins of Sperryville, and Lester Hawkins of Alexandria.
Active pallbearers were Jack Hawkins, Clyde Wilson, Franklin Butler, Edmund Burke, Charles Butler, R. E. Fincham, Lewis Butler and Joseph Hawkins.
