Last Saturday morning while looking at an over-turned truck near Massies Corner, the question came to mind—“what would have happened to anyone traveling on that piece of road at the time this truck came around the corner?” The driver, when asked what happened, replied “I just went to sleep.” JUST WENT TO SLEEP! Is that an excuse for 20 tons of fast rolling death to be permitted on the highways? When a driver is found guilty of driving under the influence of intoxicants, he has his permit revoked—-can yeu see why one driver should be permitted to continue driving, and endangering the lives of careful drivers, and the other one have his permit revoked? I say that the penalty should i>e^"the-same~ifor each offender. One is just as careless as the other. --

Well, we attended the Deatherage sale Saturday afternoon, attended was all, for we were not in the class with the antique collectors that clamored for ownership of the beautiful offerings at the sale. We did manage to purchase a cup Si coffee from the ladies selling refreshments there, but, as one person remarked -“she would like to get a cup of coffee, but (was afraid someone would start bidding on it and run the price up.” Although we are not antique collectors, we had a wonderful time watching others pay what we thought were scandalous prices for articles-—still, it takes all kinds to make a world—and each man to his liking.
