Compton

A long and useful life came to a close Monday night when William Eugene Compton died at the age of 88 at his home in Washington, following several months of declining health.

Funeral services were conducted from the home, Wednesday afternoon at 3:30 with burial in the Masonic Cemetery. The Rev. G.‘M. Profitt, H. G. Thatch and 'John Frizzell officiating. - The son of John A. Compton and Sarah Frances Compton, Mr. Compton was horn on January 12, 1866. One of 8 children, he is survived by a sister, Miss Margaret Compton, who has been his constant companion for many years, and 2 brothers, Floyd Compton of Washington and Earnest Compton of Florida.
