Halloween’s a time for “Trick f or Treat” when adults join chil— dren in disguise* of white sheets' and false faces. Let’s not mistake it as a time for dealing in Smutty fun, as carrying away gates, furniture and damaging property with rotten apples.
Halloween is an integral ingredient in the American life. It could not happen under a Russian form of government, for it is much too free in individualism to fit their code of what’s funny. We must conserve this “Halloween” by enjoying good clean fun.
Mrs. H. B. Winfrey won the free subscription to the Rappahan-' Tiock News, offered last week, by being the first to answer the following question: If you saw ‘Big Ben’ and ‘Old Lady of Threadneedle Street’ dancing the Paul Jones, what spectacle would you be witnessing? You would see the Big Ben, the huge clock (weight 13 1/2 tons) , in Westminister clock tower, House of Parliament, London and the old lady of Threadneedle Street'who is formally known as the Bank of England dancing the familiar Paul Jones.
Mrs. W. L. Keyser pty>ned 'in early Thursday and in addition to giving us the correct answer, told us much of the history of the Bank of England.
