4-H — (con’t from page I) gates gathered in the grand ballroom for church. Dr. Kenneth Hilderband spoke’to us on “Your Dreams Count, Too.” We felt his topic fitted us as this week was a dream-come-true. Paul Harvey, famous radio commentator, read the scriptures. It was wonderful to sing “Give heart and soul and mind and strength to serve The King of Kings” with 13004-H’ers. It was our pledge in different words. »
That evening, I attended the special banquet given by Sears for Home Improvement state winners. I received an orchid corsage and a lovely book on decorating and enjoyed top entertainment. There was one boy, from Kentucky, who had won in this contest. The rest were girls, many of whom I met.
Sunday night, all of us attended the Sunday Evening Club, where we were welcomed by Edward Foss Wilson, of Wilson and Co. Everyone sang the 4-H songs and foreign delegates were presented to us by Dr. Fred Frutchey of U.S.D.A. Bishop Raines of the Methodist Church—of Indiana
