As I sat in the yard looking at our town the thought came to me that if a catastrophe would wipe Howells off the face of the earth this second, it would live for decades in the fond memory of hundreds of men and women who had the privilege of being part of Howells during a chapter of their life. And as they tell their children and grandchildren about the heartaches and laughter they shared in Howells, the town could live on and on forever.
People make a town and good* people have made Howells a good town. . #
