The U. S. Rubber Co. gave a breakfast with national 4-H talent Winners entertainment. It was as good jls any of the professional talent, With acts from a maremba player and rope jumpers to cowboy bands and an accordian player. Virginia was pleased to have Billy Thomas sing “Old Man River,” which we had enjoyed so much at short course. ---
Lunch was given by General Motors at the Palmer House. Every member received a model 1955 Pontiac. Entertainment was presented by a dancing team, jugglers, a TV performer and Lew Diamond’s orchestra.
Thursday night, everyone attended the annual 4-H banquet, where dessert was “illuminated 4-H bombs” brought into the darkened room on lighted blocks of ice. The dessert course at another meal was accompanied by 4-H Club spelled out in huge blocks of ice.
