, “Improving Family and Community Living,” die theme of National 4-H Club Week, ia clearly exemplified in the 4-H career of Miss Frances Walker, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Walker of Washington.
In her seven yearrof 4-H dub work, Frances has completed 9 projects. She enjoyed most the work in the home improvement and clothing construction projects.
Frances is junior leader in her , community and is chairman of the1 table decorations for the 4-H supr
which will highlight 4-H week
the county. In addition to her 4-H work, Frances plays anactive part in school and civic affairs. At Rappahannock High School, she a a cheerleader, a member of Varsity Club, glee dub, F. H. A. and historian of the Future Business Leaders of America. She is also an accomplished pianist.
\Vhen asked what the 4-H dub has meant to her, Frances replied: “It means learning new and useful skills from the projects, new games, and songs and a chance for Useful recreation. It also means •*' new friends by giving me a chance to meet 4-H’ers from all over the state at camp and meetings. 4-H gives me inspiration from its vesper programs, 4-H Sundays and campfires. And last of all, it provides a chance for leadership and the development of my personal talents.”
