Throughout this week, March 5- 12, attention has been directed to the values of 4-H Club Work through various activities of the 4-H clubs. The theme of 4-H ilub week “Improving Family and Community Living” i s ably demonstrated by over 200 4-H boys and girls in Rappahannock enrolled in agriculture and home making projects. Nineteen adults volunteer leaders (trained by lextension agents) aid these 4-H’ers strations and keeping of records. The County Council, composed of the 4-H club officers all over Rappahannock is serving a roast turkey supper (with all the trimmings) at the Rappahannock High School on March 12th from 5:30 p.m. tp 7:30 p.m. and the profits will be used to send a delegate to Short Course at V. F. J. and for! various county projects.
A radio program will be presented by the 4-H girls over WCVA Culpeper on Thursday at 12:00. Lelia Gentry is master of ceremonies leading the discussion with each of the 4-H’ers on their 4-H project work and iother activities. Girls participating in the broadcast are Frances Walker, Jean Lillard, and Frances Wood. Each 4-H club selected a special project in celebration of this week. The Washington 4-H club members are making a 4-H banner. This banner will be displayed at the 4-H supper and all county events.
Sperryville I, Sperryville II, Belle" Meade and Forest Grove 4-H’ers are wearing arm bands throughout the week. Reager 4-H members made a poster showing the project work of both boys and girls in their dub.
Flint Hill 4^H will present the P.T.A. program on March 29th. The 4-H’ers will give talks and demonstration and Lelia Gentry will show slides of her trip to National 4-H club Congress.
