The Amissville Home Demonstration Club was one of the first to be organized in the county. In 1932, Miss Matilda Garner came as our first home demonstration . agent. Some of the charter members were: Mrs. J. M. Rowzie, Mrs. A. G Latham, Mrs. Lest Walter and Mist Louise Anderi son. These were years of depres* a ion and we had demonstrations oh how to prepare main dishes using as many eggs as possible. - Eggs •were selling for 8c a dozen then. We were taught how to dry and can vegetables for winter use. We yeere taught how'to reseat chairs with fiber and splints. » Following Miss Gamer were Mrt/Fulton and Mrs. ThomhilL I remember Mrs. Fulton teaching a class of searing in the Court House, where we cut and sewed dresses for ladies on welfare. (Mrs. Fulton might have been the 1 county nurse as we had one at that •time.)* •
