Hydrocortisone
’ When the ancient Greek* called water—hydor, and the Romans called the bark of a tree i cortex, little did they dresm that thousands of years later American scientists would combine the two words in order to name a new "miracle” drug— hydrocortisone! For several years the medical profession has been using this new substance in the treatment of certain diseases—with happy results in most instances. More recently it has been available to the medical profession in ointment form, for a variety of skin conditions.
