Clubs were formed at YVoodville, Sperryville, Smedley, Washington, Amissville, Flint Hill, Reager and Forest Grove. 4-H groups were formed in these schools, also in other schools such as Slate Mills, Sycamore, Hull and Pleasant Valley’. Food for health was emphasized in school groups, larger girls did sewing and held a dress review at achievement day.
Women improved their kitchens, their gardens, caned and reseated chairs, made pillow tops and also did cooking.
About 300 women took part at this time on April 1st, 1932. Trees shrubs and flowers were planted on the Court House Lawn by th'e Better Home Committee and Community League. This was a county wide project. Since this work was started it has progressed under
