lone “cried wolf” to Rapp* hennock. Monday, as first she seemed, by, all indications, sure to enta ngle the county in a fringe of rain ahd wind, but then as the night Came brought only medium size winds and slight showers of rain.
Though Monday was clear and calm, the county did not lose alertness, fearing that like Hurricane Hazel, lone would come in a hurry, striking ojat of the blue, with a heated fury. The county schools closed at 1 o’clock, allowing the children sufficient time to reach home before the storm would begin. * I Tuesday morning came sunshiny and windy, with but the TV and radio reports telling that the threat of yesterday was no dream, and the gruesome death and destruction totals proving how tunate the county was that Ic took to the sea.
