To Michigan

By Barbara Gentiy Some days stand apart from others for happiness, beauty and freedom of spirit. Such were the days we spent in Michigan during late August and early September. The first thrill of this journey was the plane. There are many ways to view flying; joyously, with out fear, just enjoying the wonder of it full of forebadings or grimly..

I experienced them all in reverse order, got rid of each negative attitude until I had to admit that if God was able to presume me on the earth. He was able to presume me any where, so I rested quietly within my mind as I fastened my seat belt and listened to the roar of four stout motors. In minutes'I could see the lights were below us—we were airborne. If 1 had expected any “violent sensations of any kind, I was disappointed, and we flew smoothly to Willow Run. the airport for Detroit.

The first week end was spent with friends in Dearborn. What fun, to talk, over the coffee cups with congenial company. It was three a.m. when everyone finally went to bed, and this was the pattern for almost the whole vacation. The next few days were spent in visiting relatives in Flint. There was a tiny new neice to see and all the little nephews as well as the grown folks. Everyone prepared a feast for us and we drank gallons of coffee. - One day we went straight across the state to visit a cousin and friends in Grand Haven. On
